Wayang Kulit: Memory & Tomorrow is a special celebration dedicated to the revival and relevance of Malaysia’s traditional shadow puppetry art.
The programme features a guided gallery tour, two dialogue sessions exploring the history and future of Wayang Kulit in the 21st century, student evaluation performances, a certificate presentation ceremony, and a captivating performances by our Tok Dalang: Pak Dain, showcasing both traditional, and fusion (Star Wars-inspired) Wayang Kulit.
Most activities are free and open to the public, including hands-on public trials, and an introduction to the Dalang training programme. Visitors may also participate in an exclusive puppet-making workshop at RM130 per puppet (limited to 20 participants, 2-hour session), offering a rare opportunity to experience the craftsmanship behind this timeless cultural heritage.
